Product Description

Continuous compliance starts with behavioral health care and human services staff who know what The Joint Commission requires—and this manual provides you with direct access to the elements of performance for the standards, National Patient Safety Goals, and Accreditation Participation Requirements (APRs) for any behavioral health care and human services organization.

The portable 2021 Standards for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services makes a perfect reference guide—handy in meetings, for orientation and training, and as a practical overview of the Joint Commission’s accreditation requirements.

It contains all the applicable standards and elements of performance, but the accreditation process information chapters with accreditation policies and procedures, initiatives, and summaries ARE NOT INCLUDED.

New name, and more great content! The 2021 edition has been renamed to better characterize the various agencies, programs, and organizations accredited under the standards in the manual, including those with a human services focus. In addition, The Joint Commission revised applicability classifications for existing and new standards to align with the human services focus. This is reflected in a totally redesigned "Standards Applicability Process" chapter. The 2021 manual also includes the nearly 90 new and revised requirements related to child welfare services.
