Product Description

Product Description

Are you a facility manager or an emergency management coordinator who needs Joint Commission standards that apply only to the physical environment, life safety, or emergency planning—not the whole Comprehensive Accreditation Manual? Or, do you work in a health care system or as a vendor and need to understand requirements and align compliance efforts across various sites or settings of care?

2024 Environment of Care® Essentials for Health Carebundles the Environment of Care (EC), Emergency Management (EM), and Life Safety (LS) standards and elements of performance (EPs) for all settings in one convenient reference. Equipment management (EQ) standards, which apply only to home care, are also included.

A simple matrix next to each requirement clearly identifies to which Joint Commission accreditation program(s) it applies. Click on "Download Sample Pages" above for an inside look at the easy-to-use matrix.

Some key topics in the 2024 book include the following:

  • Essential information for complying with EC requirements for safety, security, hazardous materials and waste, medical equipment and utility systems, and fire safety
  • New and revised EM requirements for hospitals and critical access hospitals
  • LS  requirements aligned with the 2012 Life Safety Code®*

Settings: All Joint Commission accreditation programs, including ambulatory care, assisted living communities, behavioral health care and human services, critical access hospitals, home care, hospitals, laboratory services, nursing care centers, and office-based surgery centers

Key Audience:

  • Facility managers
  • Emergency managers
  • Life safety experts
  • Staff engineers
  • Accreditation and regulatory staff
  • Risk managers
  • Health care facilities consultants and vendors
