A variety of issues related to compliance with infection control and safe medication handling expectations in both primary and specialty care settings will be discussed. The impact of the SAFER™ Dashboard on Ambulatory surveys and an update on challenges facing outpatient hospital-based sleep labs is included.

New this year!  We have two options for attending the Ambulatory Accreditation Essentials. You can either attend in person at TJC headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, IL or via live webcast.

Join us for this in-person seminar designed to provide you with practical solutions and implementation tips to help you set the stage for continuous readiness and build a framework to deliver the highest level of patient safety and care. Not only does this program present challenging ambulatory care standards, it offers ideas and solutions. A variety of issues related to compliance with infection control and safe medication handling expectations in both primary and specialty care settings will be discussed. You will learn compliance strategies and tips related to Ambulatory Heath Care Accreditation standards and processes of The Joint Commission.

Intended Audience:

RNs, Physicians, and other clinicians and non-clinicians like Administrators, Risk Managers, Facility Managers, Patient Safety Officers, etc., who may direct, coordinate and/or implement processes for compliance with Ambulatory Heath Care Accreditation survey and/or standard processes, as warranted by their job description and/or job responsibilities. They may work in these types of Ambulatory Heath Care Settings: Ambulatory surgery, community health, dental settings, primary care, office-based surgery, diagnostic imaging, telehealth, convenient care, urgent care, kidney care, sleep services or other ambulatory care settings.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  1. Describe a hot topic in The Joint Commission survey process.
  2. Discuss the changes related to The Joint Commission’s standards and survey process into your organization’s ongoing survey readiness activities.
  3. Identify at least two National Patient Safety Goals of The Joint Commission.
  4. Recognize compliance tips related to the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and/or Life Safety Code standards, as it applies to your ambulatory setting.
  5. Employ strategies for complying with new and challenging standards in your practice setting(s).

The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources are committed to the health and safety of our attendees and will be following the following guidelines:

All attendees will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated as per CDC guidelines and to complete a Joint Commission Covid Health Attestation Form at check-in in order to be admitted to the program. The Joint Commission requires attendees to wear a properly worn CDC recommended facemask in all areas of the building with the only exception being while eating or drinking. Socially distanced seating will be provided and will be expected of attendees at all times for the duration of the program.  

The Joint Commission meeting space is currently using reduced occupancy limitations to allow more space between attendees. Hand sanitizer will be provided in multiple locations throughout the meeting space.  Meals will be provided & will be served following federal and local regulations.

These guidelines are subject to change, based on current federal and local regulations. By registering you agree to comply with all CDCstatelocal and Joint Commission guidelines for Covid safety protocols. Anyone choosing to not abide by these guidelines will not be permitted to participate in the program.
