This is the On-Demand version of the most recent (April) live  Ambulatory Accreditation Essentials seminar. Not only does this program present challenging ambulatory care standards, it offers ideas and solutions. A variety of issues related to compliance with infection control and safe medication handling expectations in both primary and specialty care settings will be discussed. 

Who Should Attend?
RNs, Physicians, and other clinicians and non-clinicians like Administrators, Risk Managers, Facility Managers, Patient Safety Officers, etc., who may direct, coordinate and/or implement processes for compliance with Ambulatory Heath Care Accreditation survey and/or standard processes, as warranted by their job description and/or job responsibilities. They may work in these types of Ambulatory Heath Care Settings: Ambulatory surgery, community health, dental settings, primary care, office-based surgery, diagnostic imaging, telehealth, convenient care, urgent care, kidney care, sleep services or other ambulatory care settings.

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  1. Describe a hot topic in The Joint Commission survey process.
  2. Discuss the changes related to The Joint Commission’s standards and survey process into your organization’s ongoing survey readiness activities.
  3. Identify at least two National Patient Safety Goals of The Joint Commission.
  4. Recognize compliance tips related to the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and/or Life Safety Code standards, as it applies to your ambulatory setting.
  5. Employ strategies for complying with new and challenging standards in your practice setting(s).
