This year’s Emergency Management Conference in Orlando is a two-day, dynamic event showcasing responses to real life disasters and threats presented by colleagues from healthcare organizations across the country. In addition, Joint Commission enterprise experts will discuss key topics related to accreditation standards. Intended Audience:
If you are charged with managing your organization’s disaster planning and emergency preparedness, this is a can’t-miss event. Call for Abstracts

Our call for best practices or emergency management plan abstracts is complete for this year.  We look forward to hearing from you for the 2026 event.

We are currently seeking speakers to submit their proposal abstract(s) based on the following criteria:

  • Provide instruction and insight on your successful approach and lessons learned to deal with overcoming a natural, accidental or intentional situation/incident.
  • Demonstrate a significantly improved aspect of your EM program, emergency operations plan (EOP), related policies and/or procedures and training in one or more of the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery.
  • Have a focus that includes practitioner-based new processes, technologies, techniques and/or tools, creativity, and innovation used within any healthcare setting.
  • Offer specific insights into how The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management accreditation standard(s) were involved in your processes, solutions and experiences. 

Of special interest would be presentations for:

  • High risk events such as, civil unrest, cyber security, evacuation, and utility failures
  • New (learning TJC EM standards and developing your EM program) and seasoned (expanding and modifying your EM program) professionals, and/or
  • Multifacility systems

If your submission is accepted, you will be notified by February 7, 2025. The opportunity to present to your fellow Emergency Management colleagues is a professionally rewarding experience. We invite you to submit an abstract proposal for rapid consideration by the Conference Advisory Planning Committee.
