Expert Faculty


As a team, our instructors and mentors bring innovative work with leading health care systems and hospitals to you. They provide training and mentoring on high reliability concepts and the pursuit of zero harm, including Robust Process Improvement® (RPI) tools and methods. Our teams’ expertise comes from guiding health care providers exclusively in applying RPI principles to their own patient safety and quality processes, such as improving hand hygiene, improving emergency department turnaround times, or reducing medication errors, as well as operational processes, such as improving bed turnover times, reducing billing errors, or reducing staff turnover.


A team of certified process improvement experts with experience applying Lean, Six Sigma and change management skills specifically within health care settings will be guiding and mentoring the participants in this program.


Faculty Members:


Klaus Nether, D.H.Sc., MMI, MT (ASCP) SV

Dr. Nether is the Executive Director, High Reliability Product Delivery at Joint Commission Resources. He ensures our products adhere to high reliability principles and Robust Process Improvement concepts. Dr. Nether is also responsible for solution development activities, both domestic and international. Prior to this role, Dr. Nether was a Master Black Belt in the Department of Robust Process Improvement at The Joint Commission. In this role, he supported the Joint Commission’s activities associated with establishing and sustaining a RPI culture which includes the use of Six Sigma, Lean, and formal change management.


Prima Romulus, MBA

Prima Romulus is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Project Lead and Master Change Leader at Joint Commission Resources. She currently leads collaborative projects with healthcare organizations in their efforts to achieve sustainable improvements in patient safety and quality initiatives. She also helps develop process improvement programs in hospital systems nationwide to help them identify talent that will embed a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization and target the key issues that are aligned to their strategic goals. This has given her the opportunity to have an impact in tailoring solutions to some of health care’s most critical safety and quality problems. Prima’s role as Executive Change Management and Process Improvement Coach and Trainer is integral to transforming healthcare into a high-reliability industry.

Before registering for a program check for updates from your state, county or city on a regular basis to make sure it will be acceptable for your license/certification renewal.

This program will award 52.0 Continuing Education contact hours for the following: ACCME, ANCC, ACHE, & ACPE, and 5.2 CEU hours for IACET.

Full attendance at every session and completion of a post-engagement survey are prerequisites for receiving continuing education credits.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Joint Commission Resources.  Joint Commission Resources is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

The Joint Commission is authorized to award the listed hours of pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants should log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.

The Joint Commission Enterprise has been accredited as an Accredited Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

Why three sessions spaced out? Do I have to attend each?

The class is split into three separate weeks to cover our Facilitating Change Model, Meeting Facilitation Techniques and the Define phase on the first week. Measure and Analyze concepts and practice on the second week, and Improve/Control on the third week. All three sessions are required.


What technology do you use? I’m not sure my computer will work.

The Live Workshop link as well as all program materials will be available electronically through our Learning Management System, SkyPrep. You will receive an e-mail 1-2 weeks prior to the event once materials are available. During class, we do require all participants to have computer audio and camera on. 

What about payment? Can you bill me?

This is a prepay event. We accept credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. However, due to credit card compliance and security reasons, we are unable to accept any credit card details via email. Contact Customer Service if you need help finalizing your registration with payment.


Will I be certified once I complete the class?

Candidates who complete their project and make a final presentation to the RPI council will be certified Green Belts!

There are no pre-requisites for this class. 100% attendance is required to receive CE credits or Certification.
