Join us for this three-day seminar designed to provide you with practical solutions and implementation tips to help you set the stage for a successful survey, and build a framework to deliver the highest level of patient safety and care. This year we've added a session of Tracers & Data Analysis, which demonstrates how to conduct tracers in your organization. You will participate in case study discussions and learn about program-specific tracers.

The Hospital Accreditation Essentials with Tracers & Data Analysis will include presentations from Joint Commission Resources experts, case studies and take home tools. This seminar will help you be prepared with:

  • Updates to the accreditation process for hospitals
  • Discussion about hot topics and challenging standards, frequently cited requirements and compliance strategies for infection prevention and control
  • Medication Management
  • National Patient Safety Goals
  • Environment of Care
  • Life Safety 
  • Ways to identify types of tracers that will help you detect and close gaps in care
  • Knowledge to evaluate tracer data, a skill you can bring back to your organization to help improve processes, reduce risk, and take better care of your patients
  • Objectives:
  1. Discuss modifications in the accreditation process
  2. Identify new and challenging requirements within each chapter in the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual  for Hospitals
  3. Apply compliance strategies into your organization's continuous readiness program

Intended Audience:

This program is designed for those responsible for directing, coordinating or implementing Joint Commission hospital accreditation and standards compliance. This is also an excellent training opportunity for you if your organization is interested in pursuing Joint Commission accreditation. The program is valuable for all health care professionals who provide oversight of their hospital’s accreditation process including, accreditation directors/managers, quality improvement directors/managers, risk managers, safety directors/managers, nursing directors/managers, and clinicians who provide care and services to hospital patients.

The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources are committed to the health and safety of our attendees and will be following these guidelines:

All attendees will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated as per CDC guidelines and to complete a Joint Commission Covid Health Attestation Form at check-in in order to be admitted to the program.  Socially distanced seating will be provided and will be expected of attendees at all times for the duration of the program.  The State of Illinois and The Joint Commission are following the updated CDC guidance that no longer recommends universal mask wearing indoors. If you would like to wear a mask when in the building, the CDC offers information on mask types for various situations.  Please see our website for any updates to these requirements.

The Joint Commission meeting space is currently using reduced occupancy limitations to allow more space between attendees. Hand sanitizer will be provided in multiple locations throughout the meeting space.  Meals will be provided & will be served following federal and local regulations.

These guidelines are subject to change, based on current federal and local regulations. By registering you agree to comply with all CDCstatelocal and Joint Commission guidelines for Covid safety protocols. Anyone choosing to not abide by these guidelines will not be permitted to participate in the program.
