PolicySource: P&Ps for Compliance with Joint Commission Requirements (Laboratory Version)
U.S. Standards
Product Description

Product Description

Just for laboratories, this easy-to-navigate, web-based portal offers standardized, downloadable, adaptable policies, procedures, protocols, and plans organized by and correlated to actual Joint Commission standards in the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Laboratory and Point-of-Care Testing (CAMLAB) and its E-dition®counterpart.

An annual subscription to PolicySource will provide access to sample P&Ps for both organization-based and freestanding laboratories. The P&Ps will be reviewed and updated as needed alongside the twice-annual release of updated Joint Commission standards. The sample P&Ps in PolicySource include content (shaded in yellow on the sample P&Ps) that goes above and beyond Joint Commission standards and, therefore, is not specifically required. The information is included to help you develop best-practice policies and procedures.

At its launch in August 2021, PolicySource Laboratory will include many (but not all) of the required P&Ps for Joint Commission accreditation. We will continue to add P&P templates for laboratories in the biannual updates in January and July until it addresses essentially every Joint Commission–required written P&P in the CAMLAB. In addition, future updates will include supplementary items listed as “Attachments”; these are examples of forms an organization might want to reference in support of the P&P.

Key Topics:

  • Why P&Ps are critical and how best to develop and manage them
